In the morning, meet your local guide to visit the charming city of Albi. From the Vigan square that used to be the gate to enter the city, walk through the lovely streets of Albi.
A maze-like cobbled streets net would let you admire the façades of medieval houses and private mansions that were built during the golden age of the pastel tissue dyeing industry. The bricks give to the town a warm atmosphere.
Stop in the modern covered market. There you can find local products as the famous pink garlic of Tarn area and local wines… Follow the visit with the Castel Vielh district, the former Albi city center.
It would be the occasion of visiting the massive, impressive and gorgeous Ste Cécile Cathedral.
Lunch: Stop for lunch in front of the Cathedral.
In the afternoon, visit the Berbie palace. It used to be the residential palace of the bishops in Albi. This place is also famous for its museum dedicated to the Art of Toulouse Lautrec.
This painter was born in Albi and was coming from the old city aristocracy. There you can admire paintings, sketches and posters made by this prolific artist who lived in the animated Montmartre district before he heads back to Albi because of a very weak health.
