Day 1 Montpellier and its medical past
In the morning, meet your local guide in the centre of Montpellier and enjoy a guided tour of the historic center on the theme of its medical history.
Guided tour of the city including a visit to the Pharmacy of Mercy, exposing pots of Montpellier faience, important industry for hospitals in the past.
Lunch : in the old Center of Montpellier.
In the afternoon, stroll on the narrow streetst through the historic centre to the discover the ancient sites schools and university and visit the former Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier, its historic entance hall and rooms to finsih at the Conservatory of anatomy. Housed in the former Bishop's Palace, the students still submit their thesis today.
The day will end with a visit to the Cathedral St Pierre, once part of the same architectural ensemble as the Faculty of medicine.
Our tip: the historic centre of Montpellier is entirely pedestrian, allowing a pleasant discovery of the city.
