Day 1 Perpignan and Collioure
In the morning, meet your local guide and visit the city of Perpignan. During the Middle Ages, the city was the capital of Majorca Kingdom. Pass through the “Castillet” a former gate on the city walls and be guided through the mazelike streets of Perpigan.
Your guide would tell you how this place evolved, make you admire the façade and courtyard of the Town Hall and show you some sculptures of a local Artist Aristide Maillol.
Discovert also the very particular St John the Baptist Cathedral, its baroc altarpieces and secrets.
Lunch : Stop for lunch on the Port of Collioure.
In the afternoon, Walking guided tour of the Port of Collioure. Strategic port for the kings of Majorca, the place is nowadays known for its beautiful colours that inspired the fauvist painters. The colourful façades of the houses, the deep blue of the see and the landscape were, and still are a true inspiration for artists…
Walk along the port and visit the the Madonna of the Angels church to admire its stunning baroc altarpieces.
Conclude the day by tasting a speciality of Collioure, the anchovy fishes.
Option : reach Collioure by boat. One of the most marvellous view on the village.
