In the morning, meet your local guide in heart of city for the discovery of Montpellier in the middle ages.
Guided tour following the way of St James of Compostella going through the town, with the evocation of a famous Pilgrim St Roch.
Lunch : Stop for lunch in the historical heart of Montpellier, the so-called "coat of arms".
In the afternoon, departure (bus or car necessary) to another important centre of pilgrimage. We let you the choice!
- St Gilles du Gard and his Romanesque abbey church: an essential place along the way of Arles, this Abbey is splendidly decorated on its Portal and tympanum, with Romanesque sculptures describing scenes from the bible.
Here occurred the murder of the Pope’s legate, premise of the crusades against the Cathars.
- St Guilhem the desert and the Gellone Abbey. Medieval village built in a narrow valley around its benedictine Abbey.
Don't miss: its Romanesque church, the remains of his cloister, the Devil’s bridge and medieval houses along narrow streets.
Option: Lunch can be organized in the villages of St Gilles or St Guilhem and a tasting can be added depending on your departure time.
