The County of Melgueil (or Mauguio) finds its roots long before the creation of Montpellier, which will supplant this county and control its lands.
Historical events, struggles for power, will lead counts to move from Castle to castle or even build many monuments.

Day 1 The counts of Mauguio
In the morning, we begin with the discovery of the village of Mauguio, once centre of the County, which has preserved its feudal mound. Then we visit the Cathedral of Maguelone, living place of the bishops-counts.
The old cathedral is located in an unusual place, surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea and the pond. (depending on the time of year, walk on the bridge across the ponds allowing you to discover the former salt marshes).
Lunch : Stop for lunch in the historical heart of Montpellier or in Palavas on the port.
In the afternoon, visit of Montpellier on the theme of the middle ages, a time where the family Guilhem feuded power with the County of Melgueil.
Option : oysters tasting
