Day 1 Yellow train in the Pyrenees
In the morning, meet your local guide and go aboard the yellow train of the Pyrenees also known as the “Canary” travelling from Villefranche de Conflent to Mont-Louis. Aboard the train be stunned by the wonderful landscapes of this area.
Pass through tunnels, railway bridges and admire villages lost in the mountains. It is still unbelievable to think such a train is crossing this wild zone, but this crazy bet was made and this railway still links the mountain villages to the main valley.
Lunch: In Mont-Louis in a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, Then, go down in the valley and make a stop in two small cities that were fortified by the 17th century famous engineer Vauban: Mont Louis and Villefranche de Conflent.
During some free time, have a stroll in both cities and enjoy the beauty of Villefranche and the many handicraft shops.
